Hanne Lippard discusses 'Ruin'
“In this corn barn at Valdemars Slot I installed a piece called ‘Ruin’. It’s a sound piece, which deals with different structures, the passing of time, what it means to be a body, what it means to be a building, and what spaces mean for us symbolically and also as structures that contain us.” - Hanne Lippard
Lippard's live performances and sound installations investigate the spoken word as an instrument to shape meaning. Lippard recently completed a residencey at Deutsche Akademie in Rome and was awarded the Hamburger Bahnhof’s prestigious Nationalgalerie Prize 2024.
