| | Welcome to Danmarks Legetøjsmuseum (The Danish Toy Museum) | | |
In the huge attic above the stable you will find Danmarks Legetøjsmuseum (The Danish Toy Museum). In the newly opened museum you can see a unique collection of Danish and foreign toys and child cultures covering the last 125 years. The collection contains several thousand pieces of toys, books, comics, models and other kinds of child culture.

| | | Almost every toy is a reflection of the real world. While the toys for girls often relate to home and children through dolls, dollhouses, clothes, fashion, kitchen utensils, and pets, etc. The toys for boys often are about construction and war. That is why you will find lots of trains, ships, cars, spacecrafts, and soldiers among the "boy-toys".

Boys and girls do have a lot of toys in common, though, and the exhibition also includes a large collection of construction toys like bricks and construction kits. Other things like farm toys, Zoo animals, cartoon characters, plus books, magazines, and boardgames the children also have in common.
| | | The collection in the museum is created and collected by Bent Fuglestad who also is the manager of the museum. Bent is also the one giving tours and telling stories when schools and larger groups visit the museum.
The museum also has a large, running Märklin model railroad and a miniature town.
Stop by and watch your childhood come to life, and bring your children or grandchildren. Our guests are often spellbound by the many exhibits, so make sure you have plenty of time.

The museum will offer changing activities for children and the possibility of solving small, fun, assignments. In the museum you will also find a small giftshop with tinsoldiers, model cars, oldfashioned toys and souvenirs.
Please be aware that for the time being there is no access for wheelchairs to the museum.
